Show Your Bandsaw Some Love

The Brits love a bandsaw. They don’t like table saws, but they do love a bandsaw. (a longer post). They love bandsaws and use them. Not like we do here in the states. For far too long, a bandsaw can be left in our corner waiting to cut curves. Sad, lonely bandsaw! Wait, hes coming over! Cut the kindling to fit in the fireplace!

I think its time to show the bandsaw some love. It is an impressive and powerful machine. Cut curves or straight lines with a thinner kerf than the table saw. Compound curves? You bet! If youre going to resaw, youre headed to the bandsaw. And speaking of what other tool in your shop has a 25 cm (at minimum) capacity cut? Do joinery, make amazing bandsawn boxes (the holidays are just around the corner!) and the heck with kindling, cut logs to size on any decent bandsaw with little effort!

After you’re full of turkey and are ready to go, head out to the shop to get your saw. It will be glad to know that you remembered it and are grateful it is a part your shop. Take a moment to brainstorm some ideas for fun activities you could do together. Check out our Advanced Bandsaw Techniques video series (Thank you, Rikon!) for a taste of what your bandsaw can do.

Happy Thanksgiving!
